Ricoh has launched a new industrial inkjet print head, the RICOH TH5241, which is the first Ricoh print head to use a thin-film piezoelectric actuator (PZT). The RICOH TH5241 printhead belongs to the RICOH TH industrial inkjet printhead series. The Gen5i printhead uses MEMS technology and Ricoh’s unique design to become a compact printhead with 320×4 lines and a total of 1280 nozzles, with a printing resolution of up to 1200 dpi.
Because the ink channels for each nozzle row are isolated, a single printhead can spray up to four colors of ink. The printhead is compatible with all types of inks, including UV and water-based inks, and can be used in a variety of industrial applications such as logo graphics, textiles, and labels.
